Preferential Parking District Permit Guidelines (FAQs)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Which blocks will have permit parking restrictions?

30 out of 48 blocks (approximately 60%) within the Country Club Park community obtained enough signatures for approval.

Please refer to the list below.

2. What are the restrictions?

2 HOUR PARKING 8 AM TO 6 PM; VEHICLES WITH DISTRICT NO. 304 PERMITS EXEMPT

NO PARKING 6 PM TO 8 AM; VEHICLES WITH DISTRICT NO. 304 PERMITS EXEMPT

3. When will this start?

We expect this to start in late December or January.  Exact dates will be communicated as soon as the LA Department of Transportation (LADOT) confirms this information.  Sign up below to receive email updates (or visit the Community Events page here).

4. How do I get a permit?

They are not available yet!

Once the Preferential Parking District is active, you can purchase permits online or in person at an LADOT Public Service Center.

It can take up to two weeks to receive your permit.

5. What information will I need to provide?

Permit applicants can apply online or visit an LADOT Public Service Center to apply in person.  More information available here on the LADOT website.

To purchase an annual permit, you must provide each of the following:

    • Current California vehicle registration in the resident's name and registered to the address within the district, showing the license plate, make, model, and year of vehicle.
    • Photo ID (driver’s license or CA ID)
    • Two Proofs of Residence:
      • Property Tax Bill or rental/lease agreement (must show name & address)
      • Utility Bill (Cable TV, Telephone landline only, Gas Co., DWP)
      • Examples:
        • Rental agreement + Cable bill
        • Gas bill + DWP bill
        • Property Tax bill + Landline (cell phone bill doesn’t count!)
If you have just moved to the area and do not have a vehicle registration showing your current address, you can purchase a four-month visitor's permit until your registration is updated.

6. I have a disabled placard/license plate from the DMV, do I need a permit?

Cars with disabled license plates or disabled placards issued by the DMV are exempt from parking restrictions, but residents must purchase permits for any guests or caretakers.

7. What if I live in an apartment or townhouse?

Each dwelling unit is considered an individual residence.

8. Can I opt out if my block is included?

No, all residences on included blocks will be subject to the new parking restrictions.  You have the option to park on a neighboring street that does not have permit restrictions.

9. Why wasn’t my block included?

Approval requires signatures from 75% of the individual residences (“dwelling units”) on each block (one signature per household).

Volunteers from each block went door to door to obtain signatures from their neighbors, but not every block met the threshold.

10. How can I get my block approved for permit parking restrictions?

Be prepared to get involved and enlist others on your block in this effort. We will provide the necessary information to obtain and submit signatures.  Sign up at the form below if you want to volunteer for your block or to support others.
